Description

NEO-M9N four GNSS receiver with 50mm full band L1 L2 L5 Antenna and EMI protection. Ready for unwanted signal interference or multipath blocking.

This board designed for large scale drone or groud robots. Board have EMI and RFI protection and will be used with large current robots. This boards ready for unwanted signal interference or multipath blocking. The NEO-M9N Evaluation board makes evaluating the high performance of the u-blox 9 positioning engine simple. With a built-in USB interface for both power supply and high-speed data transfer, the need for an external power supply is eliminated. The NEO-M9N Breakout board is very compact, and it’s user-friendly interface and power supply options make it ideally suited for use in laboratories, vehicles and outdoor locations. Furthermore, the NEO-M9N breakout board can be used with a PDA or a notebook PC, making it the perfect companion through all stages of design-in projects. It’s a fully assembled and tested PCB for the NEO-M9N

Hi,
We are involved in a project to control agricultural machinery and we need to track the position of this machinery.

The problem is the machine to track has 2 main difficulties:
1. It moves very slow (around 2 or 3 meters per minute when on full speed, but can be slower).
2. The machine is a watering system so it sprays a cloud of water all around it.

The water spray problem can be fixed by installing a pole in the machine so the antenna would be on a high position and clear the water area, but it seems like the slow speed of movement is a problem for some GPS modules we tried.

So our scenario is as follows:

- Machine will be always working on complete open air conditions. Not even trees are close to it.
- We DON'T need a high precision positioning and error around 2.5 to 3.5 meters would be acceptable as long as the positioning notices the movement of the machine.
- We can use any kind of connection: SPI / UART / USB.
Could you please advice some module/antenna combination from your product catalog that could suit our needs?

Slow motion is not a problem for any quality GPS module. If standard precision within 2 m (95% CEP) is OK for your application, you can use NEO-M9N based module.

If you can allow some pole, please consider quality outdoor IP67 antennas. Two good antennas for your application, that can be used with modules above.

The best results you can achieve with ELT0155 module with 83x40 helix antenna and with ELT0101 module with ELT0123 or ELT0153 antenna
