Description

UM980 M.2 socket All-constellation Multi-frequency High Precision RTK GNSS receiver.

UM980 is Unicore’s new-generation proprietary high-precision RTK positioning module based on the Nebulas IV SoC which integrates RF, baseband and high-precision algorithm. The module supports GPS L1C/A/L1C/L2P(Y)/L2C/L5, BDS B1I/B2I/B3I/B1C/B2a/B2b, GLONASS G1/G2/G3, Galileo E1/E5a/E5b/E6, QZSS L1C/A/L1C/L2C/L5, NavIC L5 and SBAS L1C/A. The built-in multi-frequency anti-jamming technology enhances RTK calculation on multiple modes and frequencies, which significantly improves RTK initialization time, measurement accuracy and reliability in complex environments such as city blocks and tree shades. Relying on the excellent performance, UM980 is well suited for high-precision navigation and positioning applications such as precision agriculture, surveying and mapping and so on.

Thank you, I will ask one more question: Is there any configuration required on its first time use? Our OS is Ubantu server and looks at GPS module on USB interface. Not getting Position data. Pls advise.

Hi Leon,
Yes, you need to allow UM980 module to send necessary data. By default all messages is switched off.
If you are working under Linux, try to do the following
- to allow log, please put the following command: echo -e "gpgga 1\r\n" >/dev/ttyUSB0
- to disable log, please put the following command: echo -e "unlog gpgga\r\n" >/dev/ttyUSB0

Please put USB number according to your setup.
Please check Unicore command reference https://gnss.store/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=255 for the details about module programming. Data Output commands described on pages 52...269
Your can store your current output configuration with SAVECONFIG command (page 272)

Hi Eltehs Team,
Pls let me know the setup of GPS module on windows 10 plateform.
I am also trying to test UM980 module on a Windows 10 system.
Is there any commissioning software which can be used for interacting with your GPS module?
It may give good help in getting the position data out from module and to verify the module functionality.
